LSU's Flau'jae Johnson shares hilarious incident with Boosie Badazz on a flight
LSU star Flau'jae Johnson was up all night performing at the annual Phil the Park concert. She teamed up with the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra at Forsyth Park, Savannah.
Johnson shared several clips from the experience on her Instagram story, including one incident that involved rapper Boosie Badazz.
She was sitting in front of Boosie on a flight as they returned from the festivities. She recorded a video of him introducing other passengers and telling them that the NCAA winner was his niece.
"Flau'jae, Flau'jae, Flau'jae, she all on SportsCenter. That's my niece if anybody don't know," Boosie said.
Johnson's laugh can be heard in the video as soon as Boosie said she was his niece.
"Cutting up at 8:37 AM," Flau'jae overlayed the video text.
Flau'jae Johnson, a Savannah, Georgia native, was invited to the concert as a special guest.
Rapper Boosie explained his bond with Flau'jae Johnson
After Flau'jae Johnson's dad, rapper Camoflauge, was killed in 2003, Boosie Badazz stepped in as a mentor and guided her with her music career.
"I was cool with her dad," Boosie said in June last year. "All through her life, I've been there. She calls me uncle. She been playing in my backyard since she was little."
The rapper also said he felt proud when Johnson won the national championship in her freshman year at LSU.
“It made me proud. It got me emotional, it made me proud. I saw it. I saw it coming. When she was about going to LSU ... I'm just happy for her. I know her daddy looking down on her, happy for her," he added.
Flau'jae Johnson, whose music career is heavily influenced by her late father, appreciated all the support Boosie has given her.
"He showed love, even helping me get on the rap game," she said. "He tried to help me navigate as much as he could. Flau'jae said in the same video. "He got a lotta kids, so for him to even reach his hand out, to take the time to do that—that was a lotta love.
Johnson is enjoying a successful college basketball career, winning the NCAA trophy and being a key figure on the LSU team. She averaged 14.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season.
Her music career also looks promising. She dropped her debut EP, "Best of Both Worlds," this summer. She also collaborated with rap legend Lil Wayne for the song "Came Out A Beast."
