"Thirst quenching" — 3x champ Dawn Staley receives massive hamper from popular drink brand worth $291 billion
Three-time national championship-winning coach Dawn Staley received a massive hamper from Coca-Cola this week. The South Carolina coach took to Instagram to show her followers some of the goodies she got from the soft drink company.
In the caption, Staley said she has enough Coke stock to sip on for the rest of the Paris Olympics thanks to Coca-Cola, which is worth $291.69 billion as per Yahoo.
"@cocacola thank you so much for sending over this package of love! Bottled Cherry Coke….thirst quenching. The set of Coca-Cola Olympic pins…pin quenching. The vintage Coca-Cola tshirt … a must have. The lip balm…Set for the rest of the games! CHEERS!" Staley wrote.
As per Staley, her gifts in the hamper included a vintage shirt, pins, and a few cans of the Mexican Coca-Cola Cherry she loves.
"Dawn, we heard you are a big fan of Coca-Cola and we are big fans of you!" the letter from the package read. "Hopefully this makes your time in Paris even more special. Cheers!"
Coca-Cola's hamper for Staley was sent to her only a few days after the South Carolina coach shared a picture of one of her outings in Paris on X. In her post on Sunday, Staley clicked a picture of a Mexican Coca-Cola Cherry bottle she was enjoying and mentioned how she had struggled to find it in the USA.
Dawn Staley opens up on Caitlin Clark getting snubbed by Team USA at 2024 Paris Olympics
Caitlin Clark did not make it to the Team USA squad for the Paris Olympics. However, Dawn Staley has explained that the Indiana Fever rookie would have comfortably made the cut if the selection process had taken place later in the WNBA season.
Staley, who is a member of the USA Basketball selection committee, spoke to NBC about Clark's snub.
"As a committee member, you're charged with putting together the best team of players, the best talent," Staley said. "Caitlin is just a rookie in the WNBA, wasn't playing bad, but wasn't playing like she's playing now. If we had to do it all over again, the way that she's playing, she would be in really high consideration of making the team because she is playing head and shoulders above a lot of people."
Once the Olympics draw to an end, Dawn Staley will turn her focus back to South Carolina, which is the reigning NCAA champion. The Gamecocks took down Caitlin Clark's Iowa in the championship game to win the national title earlier this year.
