"Two ball balance thingy was fire": Hannah Stuelke hypes teammate Lucy Olsen's lone warmup session

Days before Lucy Olsen leads the new-face Iowa Hawkeyes under coach Jan Jensen, the new point guard was working alone in the arena. She was the third-best scorer in the Division I circuit last year and transferred from Villanova this summer. After a practice session a few days ago, Olsen posted a mashup of all the unique ballhandling drills that she had done that day on TikTok.

The session showcased more than 10 drills young players can do to improve hand-eye coordination and learn to handle the ball under pressure.

"Dribbling is so fun," Olsen captioned the post.

As fans flooded the comment section to praise Olsen's skills, her Iowa teammate Hannah Stuelke followed suit:

"The two ball balance thingy was fire," Stuelke commented.

Moreover, another Hawkeye, Taylor Stremlow, and University of Massachusetts' Megan Olbrys also commented on the post.

"You are just so talented 😝😝," Olbrys wrote.
"Okayyyy," Stremlow commented.

Hannah Stuelke and Lucy Olsen are Iowa's new duo

Olsen will enter the 2024-25 season after averaging 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals on 43.8% shooting last season. She was just behind Clark and Watkins in production, earning an All-BIG EAST selection, and was named the conference’s most improved player.

At Iowa, she has Jan Jensen's support, who has showcased her excitement around Olsen's game several times.

"She kind of reminds you of a running back that's small, and they're kind of hard to tackle,” Jensen said in October. “And you think, ‘How is that guy, getting through that backfield?' And that's how Lucy Olsen is."

Hannah Stuelke's impact on the stat sheet was huge, as she averaged 14.0 ppg and 6.6 rpg on 62.7% shooting from the field. She also made 50% of her 3-point attempts, garnering a second-team All-Big Ten selection. Even though Lisa Bluder has left the program, the former coach believes that Stuelke is up for one of her biggest college years in the coming season.

Both Stuelke and Olsen will be monumental for Iowa in building a successful post-Caitlin Clark culture. The two were named to the Naismith Women’s Player of the Year award watch list on Monday, which lists them alongside the biggest college names like Paige Bueckers, JuJu Watkins and Flau’jae Johnson.
