"U said it right": Carmelo Anthony's ex La La reacts to a TikTok user defending her relationship with son Kiyan Anthony
While many fans loved the captures of La La Anthony and her son Kiyan Anthony from their Japan trip, a few images saw a contrasting side of some followers. Despite her separation from Carmelo Anthony, La La has remained equally involved in her son's life and his basketball journey. As a caring mother, she also expressed her affection for Kiyan through hugs, as seen in the photos.
However, some have taken her loving and supportive relationship with Kiyan in a negative light, suggesting that their closeness is inappropriate. Although La La has not directly responded to these comments, she did acknowledge a TikTok influencer's video that defended her motherhood.
In the clip, Roxanne Davis, a mother of five, spoke of La La with high regard, praising her nurturing nature and criticizing those who questioned her relationship with Kiyan:
"That is her only son. How dare we tell parents how should they love on their children? Who gave you the degree to tell a mom how she's gonna love up on her son, how she's gonna hug her son?
"When I look at these pictures, all I can see is a loving mom. You know why I can see that because I am a loving mom, because I have 5 boys and because I hug them like this. I am literally obsessed with my own children."
The video sparked a candid reaction from La La Anthony, who thanked the TikTok influencer for speaking her mind and perfectly summing up her sentiments:
"Thank u sis ❤️❤️ u said it right!"
Moreover, fans in the comment section of Davis' video came together to vouch for the sincerity of her sentiments, immediately invalidating those who questioned La La.

Kiyan Anthony's unique homage to his mother during their Japan trip
During his Japan trip, Kiyan Anthony found a one-of-a-kind way to celebrate La La Anthony. The 17-year-old hooper decided to thank his mother for her unconditional love and friendship by inking a portrait of her on his left arm.
He revealed the tattoo through one of his Instagram stories on July 30, with a heartfelt message beneath the art:
“Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you every day,” the tattoo read.
Interestingly, Kiyan Anthony wanted to get a tattoo from an early age but was restricted by La La to do so. That is until his 16th birthday came along. The body art is his second ink. His first tattoo is the quote “Creator of my own Reality,” engraved above his left ankle.
