UConn HC Dan Hurley has a hilarious reaction to potential Bronny James theories becoming part of Lakers job offer: "On TV, a lot!"

UConn Huskies men's basketball coach Dan Hurley has been in the news after deciding to stay with his collegiate program over the LA Lakers coaching vacancy as he also commented about Bronny James.

On The Dan LeBetard Show with Stu Gotz, UConn Huskies coach Dan Hurley was asked if Bronny James being drafted was discussed while interviewing for the Lakers coach. Hurley joked about it and discussed how he's a fan of Bronny's game.

"On TV, a lot. When I watched him in high school, I loved Bronny. We have a unique style of the way we play offense here at UConn. ... You know what's weird, he would have been incredible in our system with the way we play basketball because he's so athletic.
"He defends, but then he's just a smart player who can shoot. He can pass, has a great feel, play a couple guard spots. He was not part of any conversation that was not on television."

Bronny James played for the USC Trojans last season after recovering from cardiac arrest in July.

He would play 19.4 minutes and average 4.8 points, 2.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks per game. A big question mark has been his shooting prowess, as he shot 36.6% from the field, 26.7% from beyond the arc and only 67.6% from the charity stripe in 25 games.

What's the best situation for Bronny James to be drafted?

The best landing spot for Bronny James is going to be intriguing, as many different places to begin his professional career have been speculated.

One of the more logical assumptions is to be selected by the LA Lakers and play alongside his father, LeBron James. LeBron is expected to remain with the Purple and Gold despite being an unrestricted free agent.

The idea that Bronny is going to be drafted by the Lakers makes sense, as he's doing well and could be a solid second-round pick in the 2024 NBA draft. With the Lakers in a bit of a pickle, as they don't have a coach with only a few weeks ahead of the NBA draft and the opening of free agency, the idea of Bronny and LeBron pairing seems to be the best option.
