UConn's Paige Bueckers playfully responds to fan who challenged her to attend Coco Gauff vs. Naomi Osaka at China Open
In case fans were not already invested in Paige Bueckers' world tour, they are now handing out side quests. The UConn star has been focusing on the court lately as team practices have begun. However, her latest sporting outing came in Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium to attend the NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and LA Chargers.
Meanwhile, a big game in the WTA sees Coco Gauff face Naomi Osaka in the China Open. This led to a fan mounting a challenge to Bueckers. With the game's venue being Beijing, a fan wrote on X/Twitter:
"Now here’s a real challenge. Let’s see how fast you get to China and back @paigebueckers1."
Paige Bueckers accepted the challenge within hours, saying that she would be back at university in time for practice on Thursday:
Tennis is amongst the many sporting events Paige Bueckers has attended this summer. She was in New York's Arthur Ashe Stadium earlier this month to catch some US Open action, which was her second spectating stint of the day. Earlier that day, Bueckers was at a WNBA game in Connecticut to support the local big league squad.
Moreover, as fans began crafting memes around her willingness to travel heavily to attend sporting events, Bueckers replied on X by saying "Maximize ya 24 lol," as the secret to her energy.
UConn's IG has been firing at Paige Bueckers
One of Bueckers' stints in New York was a private workout with Stephen Curry and NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown earlier in September.
Moreover, after the workout, Bueckers was seen seated next to Klay Thompson at Barclays Center for New York Liberty's game against the Las Vegas Aces. Additionally, Azzi Fudd was seen sitting near Stephen Curry.
With that, UConn's Instagram handle chose to hilariously remind Paige Bueckers of her upcoming classes by commenting on Fudd and Bueckers' images from the event.
"Come home, you have classes tomorrow," the program wrote on Insatgram.
With that, Bueckers fired back by uploading a story on her Instagram stories of her virtual student portal while sitting in class the next day.
Moreover, when Bueckers attended the NFL game on Sunday, she posted on X to preemptively inform that she would be traveling back in time to attend her classes in Connecticut on Monday.
