The Maui Invitational saw another upset as the Colorado Buffaloes had a massive second half to secure a 73-72 upset win over the second-ranked UConn Huskies. The Buffaloes saw Andrej Jakimovski make a driving layup with eight seconds remaining to take the lead. The Huskies called timeout and Hassan Diarra missed a game-winning 3-point shot.

Forward Liam McNeeley suffered a hip injury in the second half of the game and played through it though. Colorado (5-1) advance to the fifth-place game and are ready to continue their hot start to the season as they have their biggest win of the season thus far.
