The UNC Wilmington Seahawks were unable to knock off the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks, who won 84-66 in college basketball action on Tuesday evening. The Wildcats were able to dominate in the second half and make a massive gap in the scoreboard.
The Seahawks (3-1) were handed their first loss of the regular season and just struggled to get stops in the second half of the game. The Jayhawks (5-0) remain undefeated despite a sluggish start to the game. Coach Bill Self secured his 800th career victory.

The UNC Wilmington Seahawks did a good job offensively as they were able to shoot 37.5% from the floor, 31.6% from three, and attempted 24 shots from the free-throw line. The Jayhawks to a while to get going, with the Seahawks staying close in the opening minutes. Kansas got up by as many as eight points in the first half but UNC Wilmington would not go away. They got as close as two points with four minutes left in the first half as Kansas entered halftime up 43-38.
However, Kansas came out firing in the second half, going on a 10-2 run to extend its lead. The Seahawks struggled to mount another strong comeback as the Jayhawks eventually sealed the comfortable win.
