"Undefeated here we come": South Carolina fans get hyped as Raven Johnson and squad feature in latest team video
The South Carolina Gamecocks are ready for the 2024-25 season. The program retained some top players, including Raven Johnson and Chloe Kitts, but lost Kamilla Cardoso, who transitioned to the WNBA.
Moreover, the team added three of ESPN’s top-30 recruits in the 2024 class, Joyce Edwards (third), Maddy McDaniel (14th) and Adhel Tac (28th), raising hopes of another dominant season.
On Monday, the Gamecocks showcased their 2024 roster with a playful reel on their Instagram account.
“Did you miss us? Because we missed you! See you soon, FAMS!” the post read.
South Carolina fans flooded the video's comment section with hopes of another title.

"Undefeated here we come," another fan commented.
"Very classy Very cutesy Very demure❤️❤️ #repeattour," another fan wrote.
While a few fans pointed out the absence of Ashlyn Watkins from the Gamecocks' lineup, others appreciated the confidence of the roster.

South Carolina will have a frontcourt challenge in the 2024-25 season
In coach Dawn Staley's three title-winning seasons, South Carolina dominated the floor with a solid anchor in the paint. In 2017, it was the 2024 WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson. The 2022 USC roster had Aliyah Boston, and last season's undefeated run featured Kamilla Cardoso.
Being the undefeated champions, USC will enter the season with a target on its back. Despite the presence of Chloe Kitts and Sakima Walker, Staley's 2024-25 unit does not showcase a promising big.
With that, Staley will have to figure out a way to win games while being heavily dependent on her guards. While Raven Johnson is assumed to be the team’s new leader, success will only come through harmony among talents like MiLaysia Fulwiley, Tessa Johnson and Te-Hina Paopao.
