USC commit Jazzy Davidson signs with athletic wear mogul Nike as part of latest NIL deal
Incoming USC recruit Jazzy Davidson lands a deal with Nike. While the value of her agreement remains undisclosed, she is reported to have signed a multi-year shoe deal as her first NIL.
The three-time Gatorade Oregon Girls Basketball Player of the Year now joins the path of USC star JuJu Watkins, who also signed with Nike in her last high school year. The shoe giant extended her contract this year, making it one of the richest multi-year deals in women’s college basketball.
The updates came a day after Jazzy Davidson signed the letter of intent to begin her college career at USC. It was her only official visit before yielding her commitment. She was initially slated to visit the Bruins on Oct. 11 but later canceled it.
"(My visit to USC Trojans) was 10 out of 10. It was perfect," Davidson said to On3 "The campus is beautiful. It’s a great school educationally, which is really important to me. I met the players and JuJu was my host, so just getting to meet her and getting to know the players was really cool. It’s a really cool family environment."
The 6-foot-1 wing out of Happy Valley Clackamas High School is one of the top players in the nation and was pursued by some of the best Division I programs. She chose the Trojans over TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Longhorns, Tennessee Volunteers, Duke Blue Devils, UConn Huskies, South Carolina Gamecocks and more.
Kevin Durant welcomes Jazzy Davidson to the Nike family
Jazzy Davidson had a unique induction to her first NIL deal as two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant sent a message to the recruit. As Davidson is featured in Nike’s announcement video, Durant narrated a welcome message.
“Jazzy, you are one of us,” Kevin Durant said. “One of one. Welcome to the family.”
Davidson helped her Clackamas High to the 2023 Class 6A state championship, earning two all-state PoY awards. She also has significant international experience, coming off gold medal runs with Team USA at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup and the 3x3 World Cup.
