Wagner vs Rutgers Game Summary

The Wagner Seahawks started the game strong. They were able to keep the game close and were tied at 10-10 after the first eight and a half minutes.

However, Rutgers went on a huge 20-0 run to blow the game open. In that stretch, the Seahawks did not score a point for over 10 minutes. As a result, the Scarlet Knights entered halftime up 36-19.

Rutgers was in control from that point on. Their lead did not fall below 15 points (38-23) the rest of the way as they cruised to a comfortable victory in their season opener.

Keyontae Lewis, who finished with 12 points, was the only person to score double-digits for Wagner. The bench was productive though with 23 points.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights controlled the game with four players, including two off the bench, scoring double-digits. The team shot 50.9% from the floor but needs to do better than 12-of-21 at the charity stripe.

This was a great showing for Dylan Harper and what he can do. The Scarlet Knights should be excited about the potential of this program as they are a threat for a deep run in March.
