"PJ TUCKER SHOWING LOVE TO KIYAN ANTHONY AT GOT SOLE NYC SNEAKER CONVENTION," the caption read.
Here's the TikTok video:
P. J. Tucker is a well-known sneakerhead who once shocked Melo when he wore his rare Carmelo Anthony Air Jordan 4 PE. The veteran jokingly accused Tucker of stealing it from him.
Anthony and Tucker played one season together with the Houston Rockets, and it looks like they established a great friendship, one that has carried over to Kiyan. The young star has been enjoying a great summer with incredible circuit basketball performances and catching up with his dad's NBA peers.
Kiyan Anthony accompanied Carmelo on a trip to Paris to see LeBron James-led Team USA win gold at the Olympics. Earlier this month, he also joined Melo on his 7 p.m. in Brooklyn podcast when they interviewed his favorite player, Paul George. Kiyan had named PG as his GOAT.
Kiyan Anthony close to making college decision
Kiyan Anthony revealed his top six schools in July, and it included Auburn, Florida State, Rutgers, Ohio State, USC and his father's alma mater, Syracuse. While fans expect him to follow in Melo's footsteps, Kiyan revealed he's more focused on picking the school that fits him best rather than focusing on legacy.
"It's no pressure going there. I know wherever I go, I'm just gonna go there and play my game," the guard told On3 regarding his recruitment decision.
"But my dad always tells me, 'Don't feel like you got to go to Syracuse because I went there. Really look into these colleges, and choose where you want to go.' So, that's what I'm really looking forward to doing."
The guard was named the No. 1 recruit in New York by ESPN owing to his incredible performances in the Nike EYBL tournament. He will be entering his senior year at Long Island Lutheran next month and is expected to make a final decision before the season starts in November.
