WATCH: Iowa’s Jada Gyamfi showers love on Gabbie Marshall’s poodle after a quick reunion
Jada Gyamfi mounted a quick trip to North Carolina on Sunday to reunite with her former teammate and friend Gabbie Marshall. Marshall graduated from Iowa Hawkeyes this summer and retired from basketball.
Instead, unlike her teammates Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark, she is pursuing a Master's from the University of North Carolina.
In one of their stories from the day, Marshall posted a clip of Gyamfi having her Poodle-mix pup in her arms and showering it with love.
On the other hand, Jada Gyamfi reposted the brief video from Gabbie Marshall's Instagram story and also posted a photo of the dog on her story.
Gyamfi and Marshall's reunion came in light of the Iowa Hawkeyes' game against the Virginia Tech Hokies at the Spectrum Center Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. Gyamfi was part of the Hawkeyes lineup while Gabbie Marshall, alongside Kate Martin, cheered their former team from the stands.
The Hawkeyes defeated Virginia Tech 71-52 to mount a 2-0 start to their season. While Jada Gyamfi did not get court time in the contest, she was seen leading the Iowa huddles throughout the game. They will now play the Toledo Rockets on Nov. 14 at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Jada Gyamfi got a surprise from Gabbie Marshall last month
Marshall had an empty calendar for a week at the beginning of October and decided to mount a surprise visit to Gyamfi. Moreover, she decided to record a vlog-like video of the entire trip, as she boarded multiple flights.
In the video posted on October 10 on TikTok, Marshall also got a little assistance from Kate Martin, who picked her up from the airport.
The two made a brief stop to grab some food and soon surprised Gyamfi by knocking on her door.
Jada Gyamfi, Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin spent some time together, featuring on each other’s socials. At the end of the month, they reunited again, this time with an extended cast of their Hawkeyes lineup.
Caitlin Clark, Lisa Bluder, Monika Czinano and Sharon Goodman were present in the Hawkeyes' arena, and the group also attended the Hawkeyes football game at Kinnick Stadium.
