WATCH: Jared McCain faces hilarious consequence for losing bet post Duke’s loss against Kentucky
The aftermath of Duke vs. Kentucky's Champions Classic game proved costly for the former Blue Devil Jared McCain. After Duke's 72-77 loss against the Wildcats, McCain lost a bet to his Philadelphia 76ers teammate Justin Edwards, who used to play for Kentucky.
In a fun bet between the two NBA stars, the loser had to wear the opposing college team's gear to practice the following day.
As a result, Jared McCain ended up having to wear Kentucky Wildcats attire to Sixers' practice on Wednesday.
Edwards recorded the video of the 6-foot-3 guard and posted it on his Instagram story. SEC Network re-posted the clip on their timeline with the caption:
"A bet is a bet."
Here's the video:
McCain obviously looked uncomfortable in the Wildcats t-shirt so he put on his 76ers practice gear on top of it in an attempt to cover it up.
"Yeah, nice shirt right here brother. Bleed that Kentucky Blue," Edwards said in the video, mocking his teammate. "That's cool bro, you lost the bet, it is what it is."
McCain attempted to snatch the camera out of Edwards' hand as he continued to tease him about the lost bet.
The Duke vs. Kentucky game always brings intense energy and the Tuesday matchup delivered just that.
Duke freshman Cooper Flagg had a decent game, scoring 26 points, but his two turnovers in the last minute proved costly. Another Blue Devil newcomer, Kon Knueppel also struggled, making just 5-of-20 field goals.

Jared McCain, a California native, became the first Sixers rookie to score over 20 points in three consecutive games since Allen Iverson in 1997. He added 34 points in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
McCain was picked by the 76ers in this year's NBA draft after a successful season at Duke. He was a consensus five-star prospect in the class of 2023.
McCain finished his freshman season with 14.3 points and five rebounds per game, earning the ACC All-Rookie team honor.
