WATCH: La La Anthony shares an evolution video of son Kiyan Anthony “growing up right before our eyes”
TV star La La Anthony often shares sweet moments and memories of her son Kiyan Anthony. On Wednesday, she posted a video compilation on Instagram showcasing Kiyan's evolution over the years.
Unlike her previous posts, this was extra special as it encompassed Kiyan's growth from a baby to a young teenage sensation.
"Growing up right before our eyes 🥹 @kiyananthony," Lala wrote as the caption.
La La Anthony used the popular song 'Hung Up' by Madonna as the background music, mostly used in TikToks and YouTube shorts for evolution videos lately.
The footage starts with a seven-year-old Kiyan wearing a New York Knicks jersey, showing his dad Carmelo Anthony's No. 7. In the next scene, the Long Island Lutheran star is training and practicing dribbling with Carmelo at age nine.
As the video progresses, Kiyan is seen growing taller, faster, and getting more comfortable with the ball. By 2018, at 11 and 5-foot-2, he had already started to dominate the court with his slick moves and athleticism.
The video culminates with Kiyan Anthony playing for his AAU team, Team Melo at this year's Nike EYBL tournament, towering over his defenders at 6-foot-5 and displaying his elite skills.
La La Anthony expresses pride in son Kiyan's strong moral ethics
Kiyan Anthony, the No.1 high school player in New York in the 2025 class, learned basketball skills from his dad Carmelo and strong ethical standards from her mother, actress and entrepreneur La La Anthony.
Speaking with 'Parents' last week, the former MTV VJ opened up about Kiyan's personality and said she could not be more proud of the person he is becoming.
"I just love seeing him grow into the young man that he's becoming," La La said. "At 17, you really start to see some of the things that you've taught your child coming into effect with how they deal with the world, how they deal with people, how they answer certain questions.
"And you feel like, 'Wow, all those years of drilling this in his head really paid off.' [Kiyan] is constantly seeing a give-back mentality, and he's learning that because that's what he sees."
La La Anthony has worked hard to instill in Kiyan the importance of kindness and compassion, She often takes her son to volunteer at local charities and serves as a positive role model, doing her part for the community.
Her "La La Land, Inc. Foundation" based in New York, for example, is a nonprofit organization that provides educational resources and schooling opportunities to kids in the inner city.
