WATCH: Miami’s Cavinder twins say people get them “confused during the game” in latest IG reel
University of Miami women's basketball players Haley and Hanna Cavinder are stars on the court and social media. However, the twins acknowledge that people are still confused about them when they play on the hardwood.
In a recent Instagram reel, Haley posted with her twin Hanna, making poses to a song with lyrics stating "I am Drew, I am Danny, And we are not the same person."
"Do they get you confused during the game," the post asked.
Both twins are listed at 5-foot-6 and are guards, but one thing that distinguishes them on the floor is their jersey numbers. Haley wears the No. 14 jersey while Hanna wears No. 15.
The IG reel was posted after their first game for the 2024-2025 season, and the twins made sure that they were indeed not the same person. The twins helped in securing a 73-58 victory over Stetson, with both starting and playing over 30 minutes. Hanna produced nine points, five assists, two steals and one rebound while Haley contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, an assist and a steal.
The Cavinder Twins made a surprise return to College Basketball
After taking a break in the 2023-2024 season and locking up lucrative name, image and likeness deals with Ghost, Under Armour, GATSBY Chocolate, WWE, Boost Mobile and other brands, the twins are back to tying their shoelaces and embracing the basketball court as graduate students playing in their fifth and final year for the University of Miami.
Hanna posted on X (Twitter) in April that she had been "itching to get back to the game that I thought I lost the passion for."
One day after her sister's announcement, Haley made a subsequent declaration on her social media. Haley initially transferred to the TCU Horned Frogs for the 2024-2025 campaign but decided to join arms with her sister for her final year.
The twins made their mark at Fresno State in their first three years in college. Both made the Mountain West All-Freshmen Team in 2020 and earned All-MWC honors in 2020 and 2021, but Haley got more accolades (2020 MWC Freshmen of the Year, 2021 MWC Player of the Year and a 2023 second-team All-ACC honor).
Haley also set a Division I record, posting a single-season free-throw percentage record of 97.3% in the 2021-2022 season after sinking 109 of 112 free throws.
The twins will look to get more wins in the Hurricanes' November schedule against Jacksonville (Monday), Florida (Nov. 16), FIU (Nov. 19), and Campbell (Nov. 22) before capping off the month with the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament against Charlotte (Nov. 29).
