WATCH: Miami’s Haley Cavinder turns twin Hanna into a Cowboys fan to support BF Jake Ferguson
Hanna and Haley Cavinder have once again captured attention. Haley gave fans a glimpse of her Dallas Cowboys fandom on another social media platform. On Sunday, she shared a video showing how she’d “converted” her twin sister into a Cowboys fan to support her boyfriend, Dallas tight end Jake Ferguson.
"When you turn your sister into a Cowboys fan.”
Earlier that day, Haley Cavinder had posted another video featuring herself in Ferguson’s No. 87 jersey. She captioned it:
“POV: you see your man in his jersey,” adding, “go 87 & go COWBOYS.”
It was not only her sister who came to support Ferguson. The twin's mother also showed her support for Haley's beau.
Jake Ferguson, however, has had a season marked by mixed results. In the game against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 10, 2024, he caught four of his five targets for 24 yards. However, the Cowboys fell to a disappointing 34-6 loss.
Although Ferguson led the Cowboys in receiving yardage that day, his fumble added to Dallas’s struggles. It was because the offense managed 66 total passing yards in that game.
With Dak Prescott sidelined due to a hamstring injury, there’s speculation about how the Cowboys will fare with Cooper Rush at quarterback for their upcoming game against the Texans.
Hanna and Haley Cavinder's 'curse'
The Cavinders, both on the Miami University basketball team, have a substantial social media following. Since Hanna publicly confirmed her relationship with Georgia QB Carson Beck, some fans have teased that her presence has negatively impacted his performance.
Some have labeled this the “Cavinder Curse,” saying they are responsible for bringing bad luck to their athlete boyfriends. The speculation started as fans joked that Hanna’s relationship with Beck could be the reason for his recent on-field struggles.
Comparisons have even emerged with the speculation surrounding Taylor Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Especially where fans jokingly blamed Swift for a slow start to Kelce’s season.
Last year, the twins showed up in New York Giants gear for Week 1, only to see the Giants fall to the Cowboys.
In response, Hanna and Haley Cavinder poked fun at the so-called “curse” in a TikTok video, using the popular “Suspect is...” trend, where one person runs while the other criticizes them. Haley quipped that Hanna was “the biggest curse in college football right now” as her sister ran off with a laugh.
This year, Beck’s stats have declined and he has thrown 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, at a completion rate of 65.5%. In contrast, Beck boasted 24 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 72.4% completion rate last year.
Beck’s on-the-field challenges, including multiple interceptions in four games, have fueled more talk of the “Cavinder curse,” especially as he threw eight interceptions in three games.
