WATCH: No. 1 recruit Cooper Flagg shares warm hug with LeBron James during USA Basketball practice camp scrimmage

Duke Blue Devils rookie Cooper Flagg joined USA Select as the only college player over the weekend in the practice scrimmage against Team USA. Playing against greats like LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Flagg held his ground and threw in a few dunks, impressing the players and staff.

Post-training, the 2024 No. 1 recruit was seen sharing a hug with LeBron as the two smiled at each other.

Here is the video:

This is not the first interaction between LeBron James and Cooper Flagg. At the Nike EYBL Peach Jam Tournament last summer, James was seen giving pointers and talking to the forward.

Later in November, during an interview on the "Dan Patrick Show," Cooper Flagg talked more about his exchange with "King James."

"That was really cool. Obviously it's LeBron James, so it is a great experience to be able to hear from somebody that has achieved the things that he's achieved and kind of get some advice from him," he said.

Cooper Flagg impresses NBA coach with his skills against the pros

The 17-year-old Cooper Flagg performed at the highest level in the scrimmage and managed to impress everyone on the court and online. Videos of Flagg going against LeBron James and Anthony Edwards are making quick rounds on the internet.

Commenting on his skills, USA Select and Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said (via ESPN):

"Just meeting him and talking to him the first day in practice the other day, you can just see the quiet confidence that he carries with himself. His ability to know what he's capable of doing, but also the humility of knowing, 'OK, I'm still trying to figure some of these things out at this level,' but he's not afraid of it. And that's what, that's one thing you can tell right away.
"[He has a] high basketball IQ, tough, willing to learn. He gets to the spots that he needs to for a shot a lot, able to get to the rim, great touch on his shot. I mean, he can play. There's no in between. There's me saying, in many different forms, he can just flat out play."

After leading his team at Montverde Academy to a 30-0 perfect record, the Gatorade National Player of the Year is all set to repeat his incredible performances with the Duke Blue Devils this fall.
