South Carolina Gamecocks' rising basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley has quickly become essential to the team’s success. Fulwiley played a crucial role in South Carolina’s victory against defending champion LSU in March.
With only two minutes remaining, she seized the moment by stealing the ball from LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson and sprinting down the court, ultimately helping South Carolina preserve their one-point lead.
More about MiLaysia Fulwiley's GF JaMeesia Ford
MiLaysia Fulwiley has been described by her coach Dawn Staley as a “generational talent,” and is ready for a big college basketball season. She is in a relationship with JaMeesia Ford, a fellow USC athlete and track phenom. Hailing from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Ford has been a dominant presence on the track from an early age.
Since beginning her athletic journey at just nine years old, Ford has amassed a collection of medals (24 golds, seven silvers, six bronzes, and two coppers) in sprint events including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 4x400m relay races.
Ford holds a record for the under-20 200 meters indoors in the U.S. and set a world record for the 300 meters in the same category. She added to her accolades this summer by helping Team USA secure a gold medal in the 4x400m relay at the Pan American U-20 Championships in Mayaguez.
Now representing the South Carolina Gamecocks, Ford has become a standout performer and a key player in USC’s track and field team.
Fulwiley and Ford first connected at a joint hangout between the USC women’s basketball and track teams during the fall of 2023. They quickly became one of the most admired power couples in South Carolina sports. Both were recognized at USC’s 2024 Gamecock Gala, an annual celebration of the university’s top athletes, where they shared the title of Female Freshman of the Year.
Their relationship went public earlier this year in March when Fulwiley shared a TikTok video of the two, capturing the attention and admiration of USC fans. Ford continues to break records and win titles, achieving two NCAA Indoor Championships in the 200m and 4x400m, alongside a No. 17 global ranking in the 200m.
