WATCH: UConn’s Paige Bueckers brings back her viral pink hair as she collaborates with Madison Reed again
Paige Bueckers went viral over the summer when she colored her iconic blond tresses pink. This change came as part of her ambassadorship with the hair color brand Madison Reed's ColorWonder line.
Fans everywhere loved the new color on the guard, and it looks like she made the change once again. On Friday, the guard posted about it on her Instagram, sharing the process behind the hair color change.
"I heard you wanted Pink Paige Pink to make a comeback," she wrote in the caption before giving a special discount for fans.
Paige Bueckers also shared the look on her Instagram story, writing:
"Bringing Pink Paige Pink back."
About her partnership with Madison Reed, Bueckers said:
“I’m huge on expressing myself in different ways. Being able to inspire the next generation of athletes and younger kids to be confident in expressing themselves in different ways, and not have to fit into a box — those are values I share with Madison Reed.”
Paige Bueckers sends the crowd into a frenzy on First Night
On Friday, Paige Bueckers celebrated her final First Night with the UConn Huskies. The guard was the last player to be announced and received the loudest cheers.
With 2024-25 being her final college season, the pressure is on, as fans expect Paige Bueckers to finish on a high note.
“I was sick about the last game and sick about how our season ended," she said. (via The Ringer). "This is my last year to get what I came here for. … The urgency is at an all-time high.”
Despite the excitement in the air on First Night, UConn coach Geno Auriemma was more reserved, as he shared that there was more to be settled before the excitement kicked in.
“There's nothing to be excited about,” Auriemma said (via CT Insider). “For people who don't coach and people that are not in this world, the first two weeks of practice in October, there's absolutely nothing to be excited about.
"The excitement will start when we get a little bit better, when we start playing games, when we start to find out exactly what it is that we've got.”
Last year, Bueckers was assisted by Nika Muhl and Aaliyah Edwards on the Final Four run. This year, Kaitlyn Chen and 2024 No. 1 recruit, Sarah Strong are set to take on the roles as the Huskies wait for the return of Azzi Fudd and Ashley Griffin.
