Paige Bueckers took up a new activity to honor her partnership with Nike. In a TikTok video uploaded by the UConn Huskies star, she zipped through the streets on a scooter, sporting apparel from the renowned sports brand.
In the 15-second video, which has amassed nearly 50,000 views, Bueckers sported a purple top, joggers and a sleeveless jacket. She laced up a pair of white Nike sneakers before riding on a scooter as part of the shoot. Bueckers struck some poses for the camera, with her pink hair matching her outfit for the shoot.
Bueckers signed an NIL sneaker deal with Nike on Sept. 6, 2023. A year later, the billion-dollar sports shoe company launched an exclusive player edition of the G.T. Hustle 3 for Bueckers, making her the first college basketball player to receive a player-exclusive edition of a Nike shoe. The shoe retails at $120.
Recently, Bueckers also made a trip to Los Angeles along with teammate Azzi Fudd to honor the NIL deal they signed with beauty brand Madison Reed.
Paige Bueckers falls behind Flau'jae Johnson in NIL valuation
Bueckers and Johnson were tied as the women's college basketball athletes with the highest NIL valuation at $1.4 million. However, per the latest update on On3, Johnson's NIL valuation rose to $1.5 million, making her the sole highest NIL-valued athlete.
After missing the 2022-23 season due to an ACL injury, Paige Bueckers enjoyed a stellar comeback in the 2023-24 season. In 35 starts, she averaged 21.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists, and was named the Big East Player of the Year. She also earned unanimous First-Team All-American honors and played a key role in helping the Huskies reach the Final Four last season.
Bueckers is touted to be the top pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. She is expected to help lead the Huskies to the national championship, a goal she has expressed several times during the offseason.
Bueckers and the UConn Huskies will begin the 2024-25 season with a game against the Fort Hays State University Tigers at Storrs on Nov. 3.
