Paige Bueckers working on pace and strength during college basketball offseason
Paige Bueckers is back and ready to dominate as she enters her fifth and final year with the UConn Huskies. With expectations sky-high, Bueckers is working hard on herself during the offseason. In an interview, Bueckers shared her excitement for the upcoming season.
"I'm enjoying it, being healthy in the offseason, just trying to get stronger," she said.
Staying healthy is crucial for Bueckers, who has had her share of injuries.
"I'm learning how to play with pace and use my strength," she said.
The 6-footer from Edina, Minnesota, would want to get her hands on the first national championship with the Huskies before switching to the big league, the WNBA. Bueckers has had a start-stop NCAA career, owing to her fair share of experience with injuries.
The star athlete is dubbed "Paige Buckets" for her amazing scoring ability. She has been nominated for the ESPY award in the "Best Comeback Athlete" category.
If the Huskies guard manages to keep herself fit and away from injuries, she’ll be the top prospect for the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft.
