WATCH: UConn star Paige Bueckers and teammates show off fiery dance moves in latest video
Paige Bueckers and her UConn teammates lit up social media with a dance video showing their moves. On Tuesday, Bueckers posted an Instagram reel featuring her UConn roommates Jana El Alfy and Allie Ziebell.
The trio showed off their synchronized moves to the song "Thot Sh*t" by Megan Thee Stallion.
However, fans were more drawn to the sweatshirt the three were wearing than to their dance. The gray sweats had the words "HUSKIES" written in the front in big letters and the school's old Husky dog logo from the 80s on the front-middle.
Paige Bueckers' roommate Jana El Alfy, who joined the team last season, did not play in her freshman season due to an injury. She led her home country Egypt to win the gold medal at the U17 African Championship.
On the other hand, freshman recruit Allie Ziebell is a 6-foot shooting guard from Neenah City in Wisconsin. Ziebell can help UConn with rebounding as a wing player. Also, by teaming with Bueckers, she can improve her scoring prowess and become a strong two-way player.
"She's one of those kids that knows who she is and she's not afraid. She's got some of that Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers in her that," coach Geno Auriemma said about Allie, per UConn WBB Weekly. "She's a scorer… She scores points."
Paige Bueckers and teammate Azzi Fudd praise former LSU star Angel Reese
ESPN's initial mock draft projected UConn duo Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd to be among the top five picks in the 2025 WNBA draft.
In a video clip that surfaced online on Sunday, the Huskies stars spoke highly of Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.
"She's just ultra-competitive," Paige said. "You can tell when you're her teammate, she just instills this confidence within you, and makes you believe in yourself even more than you already do. She's definitely the type of player you would love to have on your team."
"In AAU, we played against [Reese]," Azzi said. "Even back then, she was a rebounding machine. Like always crashing the boards, she has always been tall and long."
Paige Bueckers is the projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The Sky have the third-best odds at 17.8 percent to win the top pick in the lottery, so it is unlikely Bueckers and Reese will team up.
However, Fudd will be available in the 2-4 range, where the Sky are likely to end up drafting, and could wind up playing on the same team as Reese.
