UCLA's Lauren Betts' height is 6 feet 7 inches
Lauren Betts’ height is listed as 6 feet 7 inches or 2.01m. The 21-year-old was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, and was introduced to sports early in her childhood.
Her father, Andrew, was a professional basketball player and her mother, Michelle, had significant college-level volleyball experience. She also pursued swimming, dance, volleyball and soccer before focusing solely on basketball.
"We could tell right away with those that this wasn’t going to be her sport,” Andrew Betts said in an exclusive with Just Women's Sports. "But with basketball, when she started to get a feel for the game, you could just tell."
Due to an early growth spurt, Betts' childhood put her against unusual challenges and critical comments about her height. In those times, she used journaling as an outlet to navigate through her emotions.
Betts' big frame also forced recruiters to spot her basketball talent early, beginning from her freshman year at Grandview High in Aurora, Colorado.
She averaged 12.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and nearly four blocks, leading her team to the Class 5A title game. Even though she took her school back to the title game the following year, her sophomore year was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lauren Betts won the Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year in her junior year and successfully lifted the Class 5A state championship trophy in her final high school season, averaging 17.2 points, 11 boards and 3.6 blocks. She was also invited to the McDonald's All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic showcase.
