Who is Pistons’ Brian Adams? All we know about Nate Oats’ latest NBA hire at Alabama

The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team is looking to improve after making the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament last season. Head coach Nate Oats continues to bolster his coaching staff as his most recent hire was an assistant coach in Brian Adams.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the news as Adams was a big name in the NBA assistant coaching circles.

Brian Adams was part of the Detroit Pistons coaching staff as an assistant coach. He accepted a head-coaching position in the Taiwan T1 League in Taipei before joining the Pistons.

Before that, he was the Los Angeles Clippers' G League head coach from 2018-2020. Adams was part of Doc Rivers' coaching staff for a while with both the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers prior to that.

It is not that Adams was not part of collegiate coaching staffs before as he has coached with Marist College and Harvard. The Alabama Crimson Tide have definitely bolstered the coaching staff with this move and are looking strong for the upcoming college basketball season.

What should people expect out of the Alabama Crimson Tide this upcoming college basketball season?

The Alabama Crimson Tide had an outstanding season last year and have been able to keep its core together. The team was able to do extremely well in the NCAA Transfer Portal also by adding guard Aden Holloway, guard Chris Youngblood, guard Houston Mallette and center Clifford Omoruyi.

The team also added significant players through Nate Oats' recruiting. Alabama has added a talented and experienced coach in Brian Adams. They should be able to dominate with an amazing offensive team which was second in college basketball with 90.1 points per game last year.

There is a reason why the Alabama Crimson Tide have been listed as tied with the Kansas Jayhawks for best odds to win the 2025 March Madness at +1000, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

This team has a lot of the key ingredients to be successful as they kept major pieces while other premier teams lost them since their last game.
