“Y’all won’t believe what just happened”: LSU’s Flau'jae Johnson drops surprising update on her love life

Flau'jae Johnson made a perfect start to her junior year at LSU as the Lady Tigers defeated Eastern Kentucky 94–44 in the season opener. Johnson recorded 25 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists.

Before LSU's second game against Northwestern State on Friday, Johnson unexpectedly updated fans about her love life on Instagram.

The guard posted several pictures and a video clip showing fans glimpses of a romantic evening she had with a mystery partner.

"Y’all won’t believe what just happened," Flau'jae posted with a black and white photo of herself.

The next slide showed a bed decorated with red roses, balloons and candles, hinting at a possible date night or romantic celebration. Big LED blocks spelling out "BE MY GF" were in the middle of the bed, with two bouquets on either side.

In her last story, Johnson shared a polaroid of the room, which captured an individual standing beside the bed in the dark. She did not reveal the person's identity but simply captioned "Ofc" to confirm she is now in a relationship.

Flau'jae Johnson once revealed her date type

LSU junior Flau'jae Johnson ranks among the top NIL earners in women's basketball. She displaced UConn's Paige Bueckers to claim the top spot in September.

While building a successful career in basketball and rap music, Johnson has also garnered huge attention in her personal life. In April, She shared her relationship preferences on the "Baller Alert Show."

When asked if she is attracted to other athletes, Johnson replied:

"I don't see myself dating a regular person. Can't date a NARP. 'Normal A** Regular Person.'"
"I'm attracted to athletes, cause I like builds. You can't date no short boy. You gotta be a good person. Gotta be able to make me laugh, funny, a good heart. I don't need anybody like negative energy."

Although Johnson said she would date someone shorter than her but later clarified that it would not look good at the wedding.

The phenom averaged 14.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for LSU last season. She is poised to have another stellar campaign, with many calling her one of the best players entering the season behind Paige Bueckers and JuJu Watkins.
