"Yessir brother," "D Book cosplay": Tyrese Proctor, Sean Stewart hype up Duke's Caleb Foster in latest IG dump
Caleb Foster's latest Instagram post sent some of his teammates, both old and new, and other players into frenzy. The Duke Blue Devils guard gave a sneak peek into his preparations for the upcoming 2024-25 season, which caught the attention of top players in the men's college basketball circuit.
The post featured a few snaps from Foster's photoshoot for the Blue Devils and his work in training sessions and the gym.
His current teammate Tyrese Proctor and former teammate Sean Stewart were among a few players who hyped up Foster's post, with Stewart comparing him with the likes of Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.
"Yessir brother," rejoiced Proctor.
"D Book cosplay," said Stewart.
Besides Stewart, Foster also received praise from the other two members of the Blue Devils' famed 'Freshman Four', Jared McCain and TJ Power. Jeremy Roach, who transferred to the Baylor Bears during this offseason, also applauded Foster.
"Young king fr," said Roach.
"Fall back," said Power.
"So hype for my brother," said a proud McCain.
The 'Freshman Four' were integral to the Blue Devils' run to the Elite Eight last season. However, Foster will be the lone player from the group to play his sophomore year with the Blue Devils in the 2024-25 season.
While Stewart transferred to the Ohio State Buckeyes, Power transferred to the Virginia Cavaliers, while McCain became the 16th overall pick in this year's NBA draft, with the Philadelphia 76ers making a move for the talented guard.
Caleb Foster enjoyed a solid freshman season with the Blue Devils
Foster was among the top 25 prospects in the Class of 2023 and justified his standing with a solid freshman season for the Blue Devils. In 15 starts, he averaged 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists before a foot injury hampered his season.
He also recorded impressive shooting percentages, with .437 from the field, .406 from the 3-point range and .688 from the free-throw line.
With the Blue Devils losing a fair amount of their guards, Foster will be expected to see more game time marshalling the back court alongside Proctor. He's tipped to produce a strong sophomore season, and the Blue Devils will be early favorites to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament in the 2024-25 season.
