“You did that!!”: When Carmelo Anthony’s ex La La and son Kiyan Anthony had a “crazy” encounter with Drake

In July 2023, Kiyan Anthony was among the fans at Drake's memorable 'It's All a Blur Tour.' It was one of the most successful tours in the rapper's career, being anticipated by fans for years and featuring some heavy names like 21 Savage. So, when Drake was set to perform at the Madison Square Garden, Kiyan Anthony and his mom La La Anthony were in the crowd.

Moreover, the two caught a closer look at the rapper like no other during Drake's strides backstage. The rapper recognized Kiyan Anthony and briefly detoured to dap and hug the 16-year-old with a huge smile on his face, forcing La La Anthony to post the crazy encounter on her Instagram.

"Last night was CRRRAAZZZYYYYY!!! Thank you @champagnepapi for an incredible night!!! 🆙 🦉you did that!!!!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥," Anthony quipped while tagging Drake and Anthony.

While it was not the first time the high schooler met the globally known rapper, the brief interaction surprised him because of his unpreparedness. Moreover, in an interview with Overtime Mikey, Anthony shared that he had purchased regular seats for the night. However, his tickets were later upgraded and he was called to the VIP area during the concert.

Kiyan Anthony got the front-row seats to the most intense level of basketball

Kiyan Anthony had front-row seats and the company of the national team’s legend Carmelo Anthony during Team USA’s semifinal game against Serbia.

Carmelo Anthony has been significantly impacting the younger Anthony’s basketball acumen, always giving him insights and glimpses of the next level. He has already included Kiyan Anthony in his personal workouts and has garnered a reputation for guarding his son aggressively during their one-on-one session to prepare him for the bigger stage.

Interestingly, the semi-final game was all about that. In a rare unfolding, Team USA trailed for more than 75% of the game and looked exhausted with a double-digit deficit near the end of the third quarter.

Not only did Anthony get first-hand experience of the intensity on the international stage but also the crossfires, as Bogdan Bogdanovic mocked Melo with his iconic 3-point point celebration, albeit as Team USA struggled.

Ever the competitor, Carmelo Anthony was focused on the game, motivating the national team from the sideline and even yelling about possible scoring options on the floor.

Team USA ultimately climbed a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter, getting hold of the momentum right before the final buzzer sounded.
