"Steph Curry" - Bronny James once gave a hilarious answer on being asked about his 'dad'

In July 2020, when the lockdowns and pandemic were still around, Bronny James was on an Instagram live when he was asked who his dad was. Without missing a beat, the guard replied:

"Steph Curry"

The sarcastic, short, reply went on to be one of the most viral moments on the internet at the time, and it's trending again as Bronny prepares to join the NBA.

Even his actual father, LeBron James, found the reply funny as he reacted to the video with a series of laughing emojis.

Bronny James' focus right now is not on playing with his father, but on himself

For a long time now, LeBron James has spoken about his wish of sharing the NBA stage with his son. When Bronny James declared for the 2024 NBA draft, many fans and analysts speculated that teams would be willing to draft Bronny if LeBron would transfer to them.

However, Bronny brushed those rumors off and said:

“This is a serious business. I don’t feel like there would be a thought of ‘I’m just drafting this kid just because I’m gonna get his dad.’ I don’t think a GM would really allow that. I think I’ve put in the work and I’ll get drafted because of not only the player but the person that I am.
“My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself and, of course, get to the NBA,” he added. “I never thought about playing with my dad. But of course, he’s brought it up a couple times.”

LeBron James has a player option available for this summer. With the Lakers in disarray after the 4-1 playoff series loss to Denver Nuggets, rumors arose of Bron's dissatisfaction with the team. Many suggested that the veteran could see where his son gets drafted and make his plans accordingly.

However, the Lakers front office has made changes since then, as they fired coach Darvin Ham. There are also rumors about either Darius Garland or Donovan Mitchell joining the LA for the next season. These new developments could dissuade LeBron from moving.

At the same time, some sources suggested that the Lakers were interested in drafting Bronny but those still remain rumors. For now, Bronny James is focused on increasing his draft stock at the NBA draft Combine. He has already surprised scouts with his 3-point shooting skills during drills and scrimmage.

ESPN's Jonathan Givony has moved the guard from No. 98 to No. 54 in his latest mock draft. There is an overall positive sign towards Bronny's draft prospects, but fans will have to wait until Jun. 26 and 27 for the final results.
