Tennessee HC Kim Caldwell issues bold warning for SEC opponents

Tennessee Lady Volunteers coach Kim Caldwell was bold and confident when quizzed during a Wednesday interview with the SEC Network about what she wants the public to know about her team's chances this season.

The Lady Vols picked up a dominant 101-53 victory against the Samford Bulldogs on Tuesday. After a tough start, UT regained its composure and completely ran over Samford in the second half.

The Lady Vols can expect tougher tests ahead but for now, they seem to be enjoying Caldwell's dream start.

Caldwell began her coaching career at Ohio Valley as an assistant coach in 2011. She went on to have spells as the head coach at Glenville State and Marshall before getting hired as Tennessee's new coach earlier this year.

She issued a bold warning for her Southeastern Conference opponents in an interview with the SEC Network.

"You're gonna hate playing us. Simple," Caldwell said.

Kim Caldwell remains optimistic despite playing in tough conference

Kim Caldwell said that her Tennessee women have an edge now despite playing in a conference that boasts top teams such as South Carolina and LSU.

"A lot of what we do, we need equal or better talent, so we're going to have to grow it," Caldwell said.
"But I think it is just making teams uncomfortable and making people play the way they don't want to. We're not going to try to beat them at their own game. We're going to try to beat them at a different game. We're going to try to make them beat us at our game."

The Lady Vols will now clash with the UT Martin Skyhawks and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders over the next couple of games. However, only time will tell how Tennessee will respond when the going gets tough in the NCAA.
