"That's a good move": When Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony shared his take on Paul George signing for the 76ers

The son of former NCAA champion and Syracuse Orange great Carmelo Anthony, Kiyan, once discussed Fresno State standout and NBA veteran Paul George signing to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Christ the King High School and Team Melo star talked like a basketball analyst in Overtime's TikTok account in a July 2024 clip, calling the ex-Bulldog's move a good one.

"That's a good move. I feel like he's going to make or break the team [0:13-0:15]," said Kiyan, who is rated by ESPN and various other publications as one of the top shooting guards in the class of 2025.

The 17-year-old cager expressed caution on the 76ers' big-time acquisition for the 2024-25 season. He said Philadelphia could face a similar outcome like the previous season, having hired top-caliber stars with the aim of helping franchise center Joel Embiid only to falter in the playoffs.

"I feel like he'll either gonna put on and take them over the hump that they need to get over or you know it could go downhill. They just going to repeat what they did last year. I feel like it's good though [0:16-0:27}," he said.

George signed with the 76ers in July after spending five seasons with the LA Clippers. He decided to wear jersey No. 8 this coming season as a tribute to Philadelphia native Kobe Bryant.

Kiyan visits Syracuse, reportedly set to visit USC, Rutgers

Kiyan Anthony received offers from multiple college basketball programs and the 17-year-old, 6-foot-5 shooting guard trimmed down his choices to six on July 25. They are USC, Syracuse, Florida State, Ohio State, Auburn and Rutgers.

According to 247 Sports, Kiyan was set for an in-home visit to Syracuse on Sept. 4 and has a trip to USC on Sept. 14-16. The 17-year-old is also reportedly in talks with the Rutgers coaching staff about rescheduling an official visit to the school.

Kiyan initially paid a visit to Syracuse in October 2023 and had a chance to talk with new coach Adrian Autry, who went 20-12 in his first season as the Orange's chief tactician. Autry has been excellent on the recruitment front, receiving commitments from 15th-ranked 2024 prospect Donnie Freeman and 20th-ranked 2025 prospect Sadiq White Jr.

Adding Kiyan Anthony and other high-ranked prospects in the 2025-26 season and keeping five-star commit Donnie Freeman would help bring Syracuse back in the college basketball map, especially in the cut-throat Atlantic Coast Conference.

If the son of Carmelo Anthony commits to the Orange, Kiyan has a chance to duplicate his father's feat of helping Syracuse win its first and only national title in 2003.
