"Tupac and Eminem Return": Fans go berserk as Paige Bueckers drops Flau'Jae Johnson mystery teaser for Unrivaled Basketball League

On Thursday, Unrivaled Basketball League dropped a teaser video which showed Paige Bueckers making a call to someone whose hands and finger rings were shown in the video. Fans immediately wondered if Flau'Jae Johnson had signed a deal with the league.

Unrivaled Basketball then confirmed the signing through another promo which they posted on X (Formerly Twitter).

Johnson will be joining Bueckers as only the second college athete to sign an NIL deal with the league. They will be associated with the Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier initiative which aims to grow the women's game.

Fans of two of the biggest college stars have since rejoiced on social media. The two players in the fan-favorite duo are being compared to the legendary rappers, Tupac and Eminem.

"TUPAC AND EMINEM RETURN," one fan exclaimed.
"OUR EMINEM AND TUPAC!!!," another fan expressed.
"EMINEM AND TUPAC BACK AT IT AGAIN!!!!!!," another captioned.

This comparison first emerged when the two college basketball stars watched the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game together.

Both players have been continuing their quest to reach the WNBA. Johnson is a Junior at LSU while Bueckers is in her senior year and plays for the UConn Huskies.

Johnson and the Tigers are coming off their tenth straight win against Stanford and will look to go 11-0 on Sunday. While Bueckers and the Huskies will face the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday and are looking for their eight straight win.

Unrivaled Basketball League set to commence in January 2025

The Unrivaled Basketball League, co-founded by WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, is a 36-player 3-on-3 women's professional basketball tournament that brings together veterans and rising stars.

There will be six teams with six players. Along with Stewart and Collier, other veterans like Brittney Griner and Chelsea Gray have signed up for the league while up-and-coming names such as Angel Reese and Rickea Jackson are set to team up with them.

Commencing on January 17, 2025, the league aims to provide WNBA players with an opportunity to earn and play in the USA during the off-season, and also hopes to popularise women's basketball worldwide.
