Before getting back to Durham, Jon Scheyer's team have been practicing at the Coach K Center for several months. Flagg not only showed his offensive capabilities but also his defensive tenacity with some interceptions and block attempts.

Cooper Flagg, the best high school player in the 2024 class, already has people hyped up at Duke for this upcoming season. He has yet to play a single game of college basketball and has already been projected as the No. 1 pick in the next year's NBA draft.

Basketball insider says Cooper Flagg is key to Duke lineup flexibility

CBS insider Jon Rothstein was in Durham, North Carolina to witness the first day of Duke's practice sessions and he came away highly impressed with Cooper Flagg.

Rothstein sent out several tweets highlighting how the five star forward can provide the Blue Devils with more diverse options in the lineup.

"One other thought from Duke practice today: Jon Scheyer could downshift and use Cooper Flagg as a face-up 5 if he wanted to play small ball in spurts. Would be a nightmare for opposing defenses to try and deal with," Jon wrote on X.

Rothstein also made a comparison to Flagg's comfortability on the hardwood and how he looks as if he is playing a video game.

"Effortless is the best word to describe Cooper Flagg. It feels like he's playing Madden at the lowest possible level. As naturally gifted of a player as college basketball has seen a LONG time," Jon tweeted.

Flagg, the National high school player of the year, averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 blocks per game at Montverde Academy last season. He helped the Eagles to undefeated all season and led them to their eighth national championship.
