The No5 Bulldogs won over Mississippi State, 41-31, and picked up its second-straight win to move to 5-1 (3-1 SEC). Carson Beck threw for 459 yards and passed for three touchdowns, as Georgia stormed to a 27-10 lead in the first half and cruised along the second half to take the win.

The Longhorns won over Oklahoma, 34-3, with Quinn Ewers throwing for 199 yards on his first game back from a strained abdomen that sidelined him for four weeks.

Hanna Cavinder returns for final season in Miami

Hanna and her twin sister, Haley Cavinder, are weeks away from returning to Coral Gables for the 2024-25 college basketball season.

After stepping away from basketball for a short period to concentrate on other ventures, the twin sisters are set to reinforce the Hurricanes, who are coming off a ninth-place finish in the ACC last year at 8-10 and 19-12 overall.

The 2024-25 campaign will be the first season for Tricia Cullop, who replaced Katie Miller as Miami's coach for 19 years. The team had a busy offseason, picking up four transfers and three four-star freshmen to reinforce the Hurricanes for the NCAA women's basketball wars.

In four seasons with Fresno State and Miami, Hanna Cavinder posted averages of 12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals. She needs to bounce back from her underwhelming 2022-23 season where she tallied 3.8 ppg, 1.3 rpg and 1.6 apg during her first year in Miami.

Miami begins its nonconference regular season schedule against Stetson on Nov. 4 at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables.
