"We both got ejected": Kiyan Anthony once got into a fight in front of dad Carmelo Anthony and mom La La

Kiyan Anthony shared his thoughts about getting into an altercation in a game against Pro Skills Elite. Anthony said that after he got bumped, it turned "into a whole little thing" resulting in the ejection of the two players while his parents, Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony, looked on.

The incident happened on May 18 in the Nike EYBL game of the 2024 Peach Jam tournament when Pro-Skills Elite faced Team Melo. In the Evolution 2.0 episode of Overtime, Anthony narrated about getting into a brawl with Cy Merrett:

"It was like 25 seconds left on the clock. Pro school had a full timeout. Then I was walking back to the bench. I got bumped. Turned into a whole little thing. We both got ejected."

After the two players had a heated interaction, other players, including security, intervened. Team Melo comfortably won the game 68-57.

Kiyan Anthony shared satisfaction that his team won despite his ejection. He scored 18 points five rebounds and one assist in the game. However, he explained how much weight of his father's legacy he carries on his shoulders and that players dealt with him "extra hard:"

"Pro Skills was definitely one of the more physical games. They definitely came into the game with a chip on their shoulder. Being Melo's son definitely put an extra target on my back. Because I felt like when they see they playing against me, they going to go extra hard.

When Kiyan Anthony stepped up for his son a few months later

Later, in July, a similar incident occurred, and Carmelo Anthony didn't choose to be a mute spectator. Kiyan had a heated argument with Team Durant's Harris.

Melo stepped in, pushing the two players apart to pacify the situation. Other players stepped in as well, and Melo was seen arguing with the referee later. Overtime posted the clip of the incident.

Fans were critical of Melo on social media for fighting the battles of his son. But some argued that if players were extra hard on Kiyan Anthony for being Melo's son, it was reasonable for Melo to step in for his son.
