According to Sports Illustrated, VJ Edgecombe’s wingspan measures 6 feet 6 inches (198.12 cm). He uses his impressive arm length to not only throw down emphatic dunks but also to disrupt opponents on the defensive end, using his reach for steals and blocks.

In Baylor's victory over Abilene Christian on Monday, Edgecombe recorded 14 points, six rebounds and three assists while also contributing four steals and a block.

With nine minutes left in the first half, he blocked a 3-point attempt from ACU guard Hunter Jack Madden before racing down the court and throwing down the two-handed slam.

"Yeah, look at him," a commentator said. "He jumped out. He knew the 3-point attempt was coming. And wow, he needs to be in the dunk contest."

Meanwhile, according to his player profile on NBADraft.net, Edgecombe’s wingspan is listed as 6 feet 5 inches while his standing reach is reported as 8 feet 5 inches.

When comparing VJ Edgecombe’s wingspan to NBA players of similar height, one standout is Russell Westbrook, who has a 6-foot-8 wingspan despite being 6-foot-4.

Most players with a height of 6-foot-5 typically have a larger wingspan. For instance, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has a 7-foot-1 wingspan.


VJ Edgecombe had highlight dunks against Sam Houston and Gonzaga

VJ Edgecombe has already wowed crowds with his dunking ability this season. In his college debut against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Nov. 4, he finished a ferocious one-handed slam over coach Mark Few's son, Joe Few. He scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds in the matchup which Baylor lost 101-63.

Moreover, in the Bear's 104-67 win over Sam Houston on Nov. 13, Edgecombe's athleticism was clearly on display as he executed a put-back dunk after Jale Celestine missed a 3-pointer.

Edgecombe is averaging 11.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game during his freshman season at Baylor. He ranks fifth in scoring and third in rebounding for the Bears.
