Deion Sanders' Buffaloes win in Big 12 debut
In an interview, Deion Sanders praised the duo of his son Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. Colorado's second season under Deion Sanders got off to a resounding start as they defeated North Dakota State 31-26 in their Big 12 opener.
Shedeur Sanders completed 26 of 34 passes for 445 yards and four touchdowns. Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter combined for 330 of the 445 yards. Deion Sanders expressed his immense pride in the chemistry between Shedeur and Hunter.
In a postgame press conference, Deion Sanders described their connection as a "silent chemistry" that elevates their game.
“They really want to take it up a notch and they’re gonna really hold each other accountable. It’s a lot more that goes on in the huddle and on the sidelines, so, it’s phenomenal but they’re at each other all the time, those two. They have a silent chemistry and it started way back in Jackson (State),” Sanders said.
The duo's relentless pursuit of better skills and unwavering accountability have been instrumental in Colorado's early success.
The Buffaloes made a significant impact in their season opener against North Dakota State. The game resulted in a victory for Colorado and drew a record-breaking 4.8 million viewers on ESPN.
It was the highest-rated college football Thursday opener on the network since 2017.
