2025 NFL Draft QB picks: 10 college football quarterbacks to watch out for ft. Shedeur Sanders

The 2025 NFL draft will feature the top quarterbacks that college football has to offer. But it will be tough to follow the 2024 class that had six quarterbacks taken in the first round.

However, the 2025 QB class is still loaded with talent, each bringing a different skill set to the table. Here are 10 quarterbacks to watch out for next year's NFL draft.

10 college football quarterbacks to watch out for in the 2025 NFL draft

Texas QB #3 Quinn Ewers

#10. Preston Stone, SMU

SMU quarterback Preston Stone will return for his fourth season with the Mustangs. Stone doesn't have the most impressive arm strength, but he is athletic and has great vision when he gets outside the pocket.

He will be a high prospect in the 2025 NFL draft due to his ability to make throws in tight windows and get the ball out quickly.

#9. Conner Weigman, Texas A&M

Conner Weigman will take over as the starter this season and have the Aggies' top pass catchers returning. Weigman has excellent accuracy and arm strength, and he can be a threat on the run as well. He lacks experience compared to the other 2025 NFL draft prospects, but his ceiling is exceptionally high.

#8. Riley Leonard, Notre Dame

Leonard will be the starter for Notre Dame this season after transferring from Duke. Leonard threw for 2,967 yards in 2022 and over 1,000 yards in 2023 in limited action.

His ability to navigate the pocket and be mobile when the situation calls for it makes Leonard a top prospect in the 2025 NFL draft. He still needs to perfect his form, and turnovers can be a concern, but he could be a target for a team looking for a true pocket passer.

#7. Tyler Van Dyke, Wisconsin

Tyler Van Dyke will be under center for Wisconsin this season after transferring from Miami. He is deceivingly athletic for his size and can get the ball out quickly with good velocity. He has an excellent pocket presence as a bigger quarterback but can sometimes make poor decisions at important times in games.

#6. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon

Dillon Gabriel transferred over from Oklahoma to replace Bo Nix as the Oregon Ducks starter this season. Gabriel's average arm strength may not help his 2025 NFL draft stock, but he is athletic and throws with good velocity while getting the ball out quickly.

#5. Drew Allar, Penn State

Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is returning for his third season with the Nittany Lions. He threw for 2,631 yards and 25 touchdowns last season with just two interceptions. He is one of the top quarterbacks from the Big 10 in the 2025 NFL draft.

Allar has a great touch on deep throws and pocket presence. He needs to work on his ability to throw accurately on the run, but he'll still be considered by many NFL teams next year if he can continue to improve his mechanics.

#4. Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Jalen Milroe enters his senior season at Alabama after cementing himself as the starter for the Crimson Tide last season. He threw for 2,834 yards with 23 touchdowns while adding over 500 yards on the ground and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Milroe will be a top quarterback prospect next year due to his dual-threat ability and accuracy on short to medium throws.

#3. Carson Beck, Georgia

Beck took over as Georgia's starter last season, led the SEC in passing yards and completions, and was third in passing touchdowns. Beck is a phenomenal pocket passer and puts strong velocity on the ball. He can get out of the pocket when needed but also stays calm in the pocket while waiting for things to develop down the field.

#2. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Quinn Ewers will return to Texas for his third season and ranks as one of the highest quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Ewers had a 69.0% completion percentage last season while throwing for 3,479 yards.

He puts a strong zip on his passes and gets the ball out of his hands at various angles. He can navigate the pocket well but still needs to show more consistency, especially in big games.

#1. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

Colorado quarterback had one of the most electric starts of the season last year. His 3,230 yards passing and 27 touchdowns shot him up the 2025 NFL draft boards as one of the top players at his position.

Sanders has an electric playstyle, but it can get him in trouble at times. He finished last season with -77 rushing yards due to the sacks he took and trying to extend plays too long. That should be improved before entering the NFL, but Sanders has a very high ceiling and a surplus of talent as a passer.
