3 Baylor players who could give Deion Sanders a hard time in Week 4 ft. Bryson Washington
The Baylor Bears will travel to Boulder, Colorado, for a Week 4 matchup versus Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. The Bears are coming off a 31-3 win over Air Force in Week 3, as are the Buffaloes, who topped Colorado State 28-9 last weekend.
Baylor will be a big test for Colorado as these teams prepare for their first in-conference matchup. While Baylor's offense has seen its share of struggles to start the season, the Bears have plenty of talent throughout their roster for Colorado to gameplan for.
Here are three Baylor Bears who could give Deion Sanders a hard time in Week 4.
Three Baylor players to watch out for in Week 4
Sawyer Robertson, QB
Baylor head coach Dave Aranda will have a decision to make this week regarding the quarterback position. After earning the start in Week 3, backup quarterback Sawyer Robertson made the most of his opportunity versus Air Force.
Robertson completed 18 of his 24 pass attempts for 248 yards and could get his second straight start versus Colorado. Robertson presents trouble with his ability to take care of the football and manage the game. The Buffaloes will attempt to throw off his rhythm.
Dawson Pendergrass, RB
Dawson Pendergrass is one of three running backs in Baylor's committee backfield, and given their success, any pick of the three would be a solid choice. Given he's the lead back in the Bears offense, we're going to ride with Pendergrass versus the Buffaloes.
Colorado has struggled in the trenches on both sides of the ball and has been one of the worst rushing defenses in the country during Deion Sanders' tenure. Through two games, Pendergrass has notched 30 carries for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Given Colorado's lackluster rushing attack, Pendergrass won't be the only running back to crack our list.
Bryson Washington, RB
The second player in the Baylor backfield to crack the list, redshirt freshman Bryson Washington burst onto the scene in Week 2 versus Air Force. Looking like a home-run hitter out of the backfield for Baylor, Washington notched 12 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown.
Washington also posed a threat as a receiver, taking his lone reception of the game for 23 yards. As the future of Baylor's backfield, Washington is likely to get some burn in Week 4 versus Colorado's defensive front.
