What intriguing things did Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer say at SEC Media Day?

Building relationships are critical

This is the first year of Kalen DeBoer as the Alabama Crimson Tide coach. It means he needs to figure out how to create relationships, and that's something he seems to be taking well.

"The relationships I think are critical. You know, we talk about the vision that you have and that you want, for your program, but really, you know, taking one step back, I'm a firm believer that before you can really sell the vision and get the buy in on what you want that vision to be." h/t WVTM 13

Building relationships is critical for the success of a program, and the Crimson Tide are ready to be successful.

Not Scared to Follow a Legend

Some people are going to run from the challenge of being the man after the man, with Kalen DeBoer replacing Nick Saban.

He has done a great job of allowing the program to have a connection with Saban as well with Saban's role as an advisor to Alabama. It's a tough situation, as there's a lot of pressure on Kalen DeBoer, but he's ready for the challenge.

Praising the Leadership of Malachi Moore

Fifth-year senior defensive back Malachi Moore is one of the leaders of the Alabama Crimson Tide and does a great job of leading by example. He discussed how much it appears that Moore loves the game and is helping the young Roll Tide secondary develop.

That's arguably the team's biggest weakness heading into the 2024 college football season, so having a veteran leader in the secondary will help as the new season starts.
