3 reasons why Julian "JuJu" Lewis is a perfect fit for Deion Sanders' Colorado
Five-star quarterback Julian "JuJu" Lewis made his third visit to Colorado in the last eight months as Deion Sanders eyes him as Shedeur Sanders' successor.
Lewis is currently committed to play for USC next season. However, a video shared on X on June 21 shows him in a Buffaloes uniform with 2024 Colorado signee Kamron Mikell at Colorado's home field.
As Sanders and the Buffs attempt to flip Lewis from USC, here are three reasons why the Carrollton High School quarterback would be a perfect fit in Boulder.

3 reasons why Julian "JuJu" Lewis is a perfect fit for Colorado
Julian Lewis and Shedeur Sanders share the same quarterback coach
Darrell Colbert is the QB coach for current Colorado signal caller Shedeur Sanders and also Lewis. This would make for an easy transition due to Colbert's familiarity with the quarterback role in the Buffaloes' offense.
Both Sanders and Lewis have also developed a relationship working under the same QB coach. This would allow Sanders to pass on any knowledge for successfully working with head coach Deion Sanders as Lewis takes the reins in the future.
Lewis' similar size and playstyle to Shedeur Sanders
Current Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders had an extremely successful first season with the team in 2023 and is considered a top Heisman Trophy candidate ahead of the 2024 season. He threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns in 11 games last season with just three interceptions.
Sanders is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds, and Lewis presents a similar size at 6 feet, 1 inch and 185 pounds. Both quarterbacks play a similar style of football and possess good mobility to get outside the pocket to become a threat as a runner.
If Sanders' successor has a similar size and skill set, it would make for an easy transition for Lewis and the Buffs coaching staff.

Lewis would be joining a list of other talented recruits in the class of 2025
Deion Sanders' Colorado team currently has three hard commits from the class of 2025, including Alex Graham, Mantrez Walker and Corbin Laisure. If Coach Prime can flip Lewis from USC to Colorado, it would be a massive addition to next year's commits.
IMG Academy's Alex Graham is a four-star recruit per On3 and the 28th-ranked CB in the class of 2025. Three-star LB Mantrez Walker will join him on the defensive side of the ball, with three-star recruit Corbin Laisure a potential weapon for Lewis at TE.
