3 South Carolina players who could give Brian Kelly hard time in Week 3 ft. Raheim Sanders
Brian Kelly and LSU go into their week 3 matchup against South Carolina as big favorites. The No. 16 Tigers should be able to handle the Gamecocks on Saturday.
However, the South Carolina Gamecocks have few players who could cause problems for Brian Kelly and his LSU squad.
3 South Carolina players who could cause problems for Brian Kelly in week 3
#1 Raheim Sanders
Running back Raheim Sanders stands out as the offensive player who could cause the most trouble for Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers. He is a transfer from Arkansas, and although he missed most of the 2023 season with a shoulder injury, it looks like he is back and in good form.
Through two games of the season, Sanders has rushed for 142 yards on 37 carries, averaging 3.8 yards per carry. He is effective at picking up small yardage up the middle and can help the Gamecocks move up the field, posing a problem for LSU.
#2 Debo Williams
Linebacker Debo Williams is the biggest standout for South Carolina's defense. He led the team in tackles last season with 113, and he is on his way to do so again this season.
Through two games this season, Williams already has 13 tackles, 10 of which were solo. He has decent hands, making a fumble recovery in week 1. LSU might need to double-cover Williams to ensure he does not tear apart the LSU offense.
#3 LaNorris Sellers
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is another dynamic threat on the South Carolina offense. He is a duel threat, passing and rushing nearly equally. Sellers has completed 21 of 38 passes for 273 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Sellers is also the second-leading rusher on the team behind Sanders. He has had 29 carries for 64 yards. He needs to scramble a lot because South Carolina has a bad offensive line, and Sellers could make the most of it.
