5 absurd preseason college football predictions ahead of 2024 season ft. Michigan missing CFP

The 2024 college football season is now just a little over a month away and there are a lot of absurd preseason predictions going around. Here's a closer look at some crazy college football predictions that could in theory happen, no matter how far-fetched or seemingly impossible as a lot of different things can happen as the year goes on.

5 absurd preseason college football predictions

#1. Michigan to miss the CFP entirely

After winning the national championship last season, the Michigan Wolverines are going to be on the outside of the College Football Playoff this season. They had a lot of changes to their personnel and their coach left the program for the NFL.

The Wolverines have the Texas Longhorns, USC Trojans, Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks on their schedule this season, so it could prove difficult to be one of the 12 teams to make the College Football Playoff.

#2. Arch Manning to become the starting quarterback this season

The Texas Longhorns officially made the move to the SEC ahead of the new college football season and things could go sideways fast. With games against the Michigan Wolverines, Georgia Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners and Mississippi State Bulldogs, there could be some issues that Quinn Ewers suffers through.

The Longhorns understand that they are going to need to begin looking at the future with Arch Manning under center at some point, and it's not going to take a bowl game for Manning to become the starting quarterback for the program this season.

#3. LSU to win more regular season games than Notre Dame

DraftKings Sportsbook is currently offering this as a wager, with the LSU Tigers to have more regular season wins currently listed at +200. The Fighting Irish have games at USC, at Texas A&M and versus Florida State. Meanwhile, the Tigers have games versus USC, at Texas A&M, versus Alabama and versus Oklahoma.

It's a tough task but Brian Kelly has done well at building the program up for Year 3 of his tenure and should be playing a lot better than they did last season.

#4. Shedeur Sanders to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy

At this point, Shedeur Sanders is +3500 to win the Heisman Trophy and he showcased incredible talent to do just that last season. With a better offensive line and a year of experience playing at a power conference schedule, do not be surprised if he has 40 touchdowns for three to five interceptions and 4,500 total yards.

#5. Colorado Buffaloes to win the national championship

The Colorado Buffaloes are going to have an excellent season with their first year back in the Big 12 Conference and make the College Football Playoff. However, they are going to run the table and win it all. A big reason for this is the fact that the previous prediction of Shedeur Sanders winning the Heisman means a massive season could be on the cards for the Buffs.

Teams are going to get upset in the CFP and that leaves a chance for Deion Sanders and Colorado to win it all.
