5 coaches on hot seat after Week 14 college football ft. Luke Fickell

As the regular season ends, the coaching carousel heats up. Several coaches have already been let go including Mack Brown from North Carolina and Neal Brown from West Virginia.

Here are five more head coaches whose demise seems imminent-- and who may already be job-hunting by the time you read this list.

5. Lincoln Riley, USC

Riley came to USC highly regarded as he had been brilliant at Oklahoma. Riley was 55-10 at Oklahoma and had the type of seasons that would probably have landed the Sooners in a 12-team College Football Playoff, had it existed then.

But at USC, Riley is 25-14 and his returns have diminished annually from 11-3 to 8-5 to 6-6. That's not a promising trend and even in the Big Ten, USC sets its sights a good bit higher than .500. The Trojans could be looking to move on from Riley in the near future.

4. Ryan Day, Ohio State

This one will take a bit of time because Ohio State isn't going to fire Day as he prepares to lead the Buckeyes in the playoffs. But, if Ohio State takes a disappointing first-round playoff loss it wouldn't be shocking if Day is done.

Yes, Day is 66-10 at Ohio State. He's also 1-4 against Michigan and Ohio State hasn't won the Big Ten in the last four years and Day is 1-3 in the playoff. At most schools, Day would be a hero. At Ohio State, he's one bad game away from possibly being in the firing line.

3. Dave Clawson, Wake Forest

Wake has had Clawson since 2014. But the arc of his career at Wake is clear. After starting with a pair of 3-9 seasons, he led Wake to seven straight bowl games. But now Clawson has put together back-to-back 4-8 clunkers.

Wake is just 3-13 in league play in the last two years. Despite an impressive run, time is probably running out on Clawson.

2. Kenni Burns, Kent State

Burns is 1-23 at Kent State. Sure, the Golden Flashes aren't exactly Alabama. But 1-23 is something else. Worse yet, Burns is having some personal issues.

News broke this week that he had been sued for some unpaid credit card debt. It's not job-related, but it's not a great look for a guy who isn't winning. Kent State may well move on.

1. Luke Fickell, Wisconsin

Fickell came in off a nice run at Cincinnati, but in two seasons at Wisconsin, he's just 13-13. While two seasons is a short run for a head coach, it's not hard to fathom Wisconsin deciding to move on.

The level of acceptable performances for the Badgers isn't .500 seasons. Fickell and Wisconsin could be at the point of breaking company.
