5 late-round NFL Draft stars from Washington

A lot of fans will get to know the top talent in the 2024 NFL draft coming out of the Washington Huskies program. With players like quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and wide receiver Rome Odunze getting selected in the top 10 of the draft, other Huskies are available during Day 3.

Some significant prospects out of the University of Washington are due to be selected on Day 3 of the draft, and this article will highlight a handful of them still waiting to hear their names called.

5 Washington Huskies late-round NFL draft stars

#1 Dominique Hampton, Safety

Dominique Hampton is one of the more intriguing Day 3 selections, as he had an outstanding 2023 season with the Washington Huskies. He finished with 108 total tackles, two interceptions and seven pass deflections, while also allowing an 82.1 passer rating.

Hampton has a nose for football and will be among the rookie leaders in tackles, so he could be a gem for whatever NFL team takes him.

#2 Dillon Johnson, Running Back

Running back Dillon Johnson had an unbelievable 2023 season for the Huskies, as he became their leading rusher. He recorded 233 carries for 1,195 yards (5.1 yards per attempt) with 16 rushing touchdowns while also adding 24 catches for 190 yards (7.9 yards per reception).

Johnson proved to be efficient at getting yards after contact and playing at a great level. He could immediately have an impact on the running game in the NFL.

#3 Edefuan Ulofoshio, Linebacker

Edefuan Ulofoshio can be a rotational linebacker and did pretty well for himself during the 2023 season. He recorded 94 total tackles with three sacks, one forced fumble, one interception (returned for a touchdown) and three pass deflections.

Despite being a little undersized for the position, Ulofoshio has still shown his abilities on the field and can be an underrated part of whatever team drafts him.

#4 Zion Tupuola-Fetui, EDGE

Zion Tupuola-Fetui has a lot of traits that scouts love, as he has the experience, plays with explosiveness and has no problems transitioning to special teams as well. With an NFL weight room helping him gain some additional weight, he has a good upside.

Tupuola-Fetui finished the 2023 season with 29 total tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He can be a diamond in the rough the minute he is selected, as he is a hard worker.

#5 Jack Westover, Tight End

Washington tight end Jack Westover proved to be a significant part of the Huskies' offensive gameplan last season as he recorded 46 catches for 433 yards (9.4 yards per reception) with four touchdowns as well as a one-yard rushing touchdown. He is one of the more reliable targets, as he only registered one drop last season as well.

Westover is no slouch defending the run either, and he uses every drop of his 6-foot-3, 248-pound frame. Whatever team drafts him, likely in the final round of the 2024 NFL draft, will get one of the better prospects at the position.
