Ashton Jeanty 2025 NFL Draft: Boise State RB's draft explored after failing to win the Heisman
Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty had a phenomenal season but finished in second place for the 2024 Heisman Trophy. Ahead of the College Football Playoff, Jeanty has recorded 344 rushing attempts for 2,497 yards (7.3 yards per carry) with 29 touchdowns. He was also a factor in the passing game with 20 receptions for 116 yards (5.8 yards per catch) and a receiving touchdown.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding what the junior running back can do as he has not officially declared his decision for the 2025 season. However, do not be shocked if the running back declares for the 2025 NFL draft when his season officially comes to an end.
Let's take a closer look at his draft stock and see which teams could be interested in him.
Where will Ashton Jeanty be drafted?
While Ashton Jeanty is one of the top players in college football, being a running back makes this discussion a lot more interesting. Teams are typically not willing to spend significant draft capital on a running back as it is viewed as a position with a short shelf life.
However, Jeanty is one of the best offensive forces in college football, and how he does in the CFP against elite competition, after being in a Group of Five conference, will open eyeballs. Expect to see him selected in the top half of the first round of the 2025 NFL draft if he were to declare for it.
One team that seemingly makes the most sense to draft him would be the Dallas Cowboys, who hold the 12th pick if the draft order was finalized today. The Cowboys lost Tony Pollard in the offseason and did not get a player to replace him.
Do not be surprised if Jerry Jones wants to make that splash and get a dominant bell-cow running back for the Cowboys to pair with quarterback Dak Prescott.
