"Ashton Jeanty ranked too low": CFB Fans express their dissatisfaction with Boise State star's Heisman odds
As we get closer to the end of the 2024 college football season, there has been growing interest in the race for the 2024 Heisman Trophy. The debate over which player will win the top individual award in the nation has been highly polarizing. On Wednesday, On3 posted the updated Heisman Trophy odds from Fanduel Sportsbook on X, which placed Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty fourth on the list.
Fans responded to the post in droves to discuss the 2024 Heisman Trophy odds, with many expressing how they believe that Jeanty's odds are a bit too low right now.
"I feel bad for Jeanty and Gabriel he is way better than cam and hunter," one fan said.
"Jeanty at 4 is ridiculous," another fan said.
Other people weighed in on the rankings, sharing their thoughts on the placement of other players on the list and where they landed.
"Advanced stats have Rourke as the most accurate passer in CFB by a wide margin (Dart is #2 almost 5% lower). Also well above median in average depth of passes. 1500 yards and 15 TD in 4.5 conference games (3 of which on the road), and unlike Ward he doesnt throw 40x+ a game," one fan said.
"The Dylan Sampson hate is off the charts," another fan said.
There is still time to figure out who will be the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner but there are some intriguing players fighting for the honor.
What has Ashton Jeanty done this season?
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has been an absolute monster this season and could be playing himself into the Heisman Trophy. If he were to do so, he would be the first player since quarterback Roger Staubach in 1963 to win the award in a Group of Five conference.
The junior running back has recorded 190 rushing attempts for 1,525 yards (8.0 yards per carry) with 20 touchdowns. In addition, he has caught 14 passes for 81 yards (5.8 yards per reception) with a receiving touchdown. One remarkable stat is that with his 204 touches, he has not fumbled the ball this season.
