"Bruh Ewers f***ing sucks you have Arch Manning ffs": Texas fans show their frustration over Quinn Ewers' poor start to Georgia gameĀ
The top-ranked Texas Longhorns have been struggling to get much going offensively against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs at home in their Week 8 blockbuster game. Texas' starting quarterback Quinn Ewers struggled to get the ball going downfield as the Bulldogs' defense remained stout.
However, that did not stop some fans on social media from blaming Ewers for the Longhorns' offensive issues:
"Bruh Ewers f***ing sucks you have Arch Manning ffs," one fan said.
"Arch Manning stepping in for Quinn Ewers against Georgia indicates a pivotal moment, showcasing the Longhorns' high stakes in this game and their faith in Manning's potential to turn the tide," another fan added.
However, others pointed out that the blame is not entirely on Quinn Ewers' shoulders:
"I love when an offensive line gets repeatedly bullied And the teams defense can't stop the opponent And yet it's the Quarterbacks fault Arch Manning is gonna be good, but BENCHING Quinn Ewers is insane...," one fan posted.
"Still the offense is not fixed," another fan said.
What does Quinn Ewers struggling mean for Texas Longhorns?
The Texas Longhorns have looked overmatched in their first massive game in the Southeastern Conference thus far. Despite being 6-0 (2-0 SEC) entering this Week 8 game, the Longhorns are being truly tested for the first time this season.
Ewers has shown the ability to step up and play well in significant games as they were in the College Football Playoff a year ago and were one play away from competing against the Michigan Wolverines in the national championship game.
However, this is a hungry Georgia Bulldogs team and that is going to hurt the Texas Longhorns in the long run. There is still time in this game for things to turn around but this shows that Texas can not be complacent in terms of where they are in the rankings.
This game should be a wake-up call that they can be taken down and will need to stay focused for all 60 minutes against other elite programs in college football.
