#1. Beck praised Saban and Alabama

In an unusual moment, Beck was asked about his relationship with coaching-legend-turned-analyst Nick Saban. Beck had initially committed to Saban and Alabama during his sophomore year of high school. He switched his commitment to Georgia going into his senior season of high school. But Beck still had plenty of praise for Saban.

"I'd say I have a great relationship with Coach Saban," Beck said. He also praised the former 'Bama boss for "his demeanor, the way he approaches the game, his intelligence level toward football."

He added:

"Obviously I never got to experience him actually being a coach," acknowledged Beck. "But from what I've heard and what I was able to see in building a relationship with him, he's an amazing coach and an amazing person, as well."

#2. While he lost some star teammates, Beck is pleased with Georgia's depth

In response to a question about the loss of Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers to the NFL, Beck admitted that he would miss his talented teammates, but remains confident:

"I think there's so much depth on our offense and there's so much talent that there's not one or two names that I could really pronounce right now, which makes me excited as a quarterback," Beck said. "I'm very excited to see who those guys are going to be that step up and make those big time plays and those big time moments."

He then praised defense standout Mykel Williams, but also admitted that he is "super excited for... all the talent we have on offense." Georgia wasn't exactly deficient before, but seemingly looks even stronger as per Carson Beck.

#3. Beck likes the new technology situation

One new shift in the collegiate game for Beck will be the allowed in-game use of iPads on the sideline. The veteran Georgia passer said he was excited about that change:

"I'm actually super excited about that," Beck said, after admitting that he had not previously known about the iPad clearance. "That's super cool."

Beck also acknowledged that the technological improvement will help his in-game adjustments.

"[Last year], I almost wished that we did have iPads on the sideline because there's so many different situations that happened throughout a game," Beck said. "But when situations repeat, a lot of defensive coordinators end up going back to what worked before and they'll repeat calls. So [I like] being able to see those things and maybe even having like a little...step on a defensive coordinator."

Considering that Beck is coming off a season when he passed for 3,941 yards and 24 scores, getting an additional advantage is almost mind-boggling.
