Deion Sanders Coaching Rumors: 5 landing spots that make sense for Coach Prime amid Dallas Cowboys speculation

Deion Sanders could be up for a change of address. Both college football and the NFL have plenty of open or opening head coaching positions. Meanwhile, "Coach Prime" has elevated the Colorado Buffaloes to a legitimate possibility of the College Football Playoff.

Here are five possible next stops for arguably the hottest coach in college football.

#5. New Orleans Saints

After a 2-0 start, the Saints lost their next seven games and head coach Dennis Allen got the boot. While they've won their next two games, this is a deeply flawed team. That said, a head coaching change could plausibly shift momentum. While Sanders has never coached in the NFL, with his playing and coaching career, he has contacts at all levels of football that make this plausible.

#4. LSU Tigers

The Tigers have lost their last three games, falling to 6-4 and outside the range of the College Football Playoff. Brian Kelly is a well-respected coach, but it's becoming increasingly clear that Kelly and LSU aren't working well together. As the hottest coach in college football, the SEC feels like a natural landing spot for Sanders. He could get LSU back on top of the league.

#3. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are 2-9 and just might be the worst team in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence has been given nothing to work with, and the Jags are at or near the bottom of the NFL in most defensive categories. Meanwhile, Sanders, who grew up in Florida and went to college in Florida (more on that later), could help try and improve this morbid franchise. Could be an easy fit if Sanders wants to move.

#2. Florida State Seminoles

A year ago, Florida State was upset about being considered the No. 5 team in the nation. A year later, the Seminoles have been probably the biggest flop in college football. With a 1-9 record, the season has made coach Mike Norvell's job untenable. Sanders starred at Florida State and is already a hero at FSU. Imagine how much bigger it could be if he was the next Seminole head coach.

#1. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are 3-7. Worse than that, they look lost. Dallas hasn't played in the NFC championship game since 1995. Sanders played on that Cowboys team and as a link with Dallas's last glory days, there's obvious appeal to a link. Sanders could also give an emotional jump-start to a once-proud franchise that seems to just stumble from misstep to misstep. There's already speculation on this front.
